The most important title of the fair is the title of Union County Fair Queen and Princess. These ladies represent not just the fair, but the entire county when they wear the sash and crown of a true queen. Applicants of the queen contest must be female residents of Union County or an adjoining county if most of her activities are in Union County, never been married, an active member of at least one service organization in her county (ex. FFA, FBLA, church group, or 4H), and between the ages of 16 and 21 as of August 8th (the first day of the 2024 Iowa State Fair). Applicants of the princess contest must also be female residents of Union County or an adjoining county if most of her activities are in Union County, between 6 and 8-years-old as of July 18th (the first day of the 2024 Union County Fair).
All applications for both Queen and Princess contestants must be returned to April Evans no later than June 7th, 2024.
